Facilities for the public:

The Main Gompa:

The main Gompa is frequented by the local Buddhists as well as tourists from all over the country and abroad . The main statue is that of Lord Buddha which is elegant , awe inspiring and huge as it is two storeys high. The other statues in the hall are that of Guru Rimpoche (Padma Sambhava) and Goddess Tara . The walls of the temple are adorned with Thanka paintings depicting the wheel of life and other stories.

In the morning and evenings the devout can be seen doing the “kora” or circumambulation with prayer beads in their hands.

Resident Lamas for Pujas:

Lamas are provided by the Gompa to general public for specific puja at their houses in events of Sukh – Dukh like death . birth and other occasions for puja. (Contact person – Tserring Dorje Secretary : 8219206209)

Lamp House:

Buddhists throng here to light lamps in hundreds in memory of the departed dear ones and for the well being of the living. The sight of thousands of lamps lit is really a serene experience. Public can light lamps against payment of a nominal fee. (Contact person – Tserring Dorje Secretary : 8219206209).

Mane House:

A one story Prayer Wheel (Mane Dungyur) which is turned by hand is located in the Gompa complex. It is believed that by turning the Mane the mantras in the Prayer Wheel are automatically chanted thereby bringing good karma to the person turning it.

Library:

The Gompa has recently started a library for the public at large wherein Buddhist books and periodicals have been made available. Senior citizens of the town interested in Buddhism can spend time in this library. Sometimes lessons on Bhoti language are also held here if the number of students are sufficient enough.

Daramsala / Sarai:

The Gompa also has a Daramsala /Sarai for needy persons especially from the interior parts of Lahaul, Spiti and Zanskar who visit Manali for various reasons especially medical treatment. The total capacity of the Sarai is about 30 bedswhich includes two rooms and one large dormitory. (Contact person – Tserring Dorje Secretary : 8219206209)

Community Hall/ Janjghar:

In order to cater to the needs of the public at large ,the Gompa has a Community Hall which is used for social gatherings and meetings. Public can hire the hall at a nominal cost. (Contact person – Tserring Dorje Secretary : 8219206209)

Income of the Society:

The Gompa generates income from the above sources which by and large meets the salary component and the running of the temple. (See Annex B for the Annual Accounts and Audited Statement of Account of the last three years.
